Call for Proposals:
The 6th Haruv International PhD Workshop on ‘Child Maltreatment’
The Haruv Institute (www.haruv.org.il) is pleased to announce its 6th international mentoring workshop for PhD students who write their dissertation in the area of child maltreatment. The workshop offers a unique opportunity for doctoral students to discuss their PhD projects with international experts (see below).
In addition to lectures by the experts, PhD students will present their work, which will be followed by a discussion and feedback from the group of experts and peers. As this is a mentoring workshop, work in progress could also be accepted for presentation.
· Each presented PhD project should focus on one of the following issues:
· Theoretical debates about child maltreatment
· Research methods with maltreated children
· Analysis of data
· General questions on research design of studies on child maltreatment
The workshop will take place on December 11-13, 2018, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm daily, at the Haruv Institute in the Hebrew University Mt. Scopus campus in Jerusalem, Israel.
Acceptance to the workshop entitles participants to financial support, including a travel grant and accommodation.
To apply, please submit your abstract of 500 words max. before August 23, 2018 to email@example.com. Your abstract should describe: (a) your topic; (b) the research method; (c) the research design; and (d) the possible contribution of the topic to child maltreatment discourse.
On a separate page, please provide: (i) a concise title for your proposal; (ii) name and contact information; (iii) institution and advisor’s name; (iv) the issue (from the above list) to be addressed in the presentation, and (v) what stage of the study had been completed (e.g., proposal, data collection, initial analysis, etc.).
Decisions will be sent to applicants by September 2, 2018.
Participants will be asked to send their presentations by November 25, 2018.
